The Challenge

Construct a Fiber Cement Panel Facade that is both sloped & staggered; Access & Sequence Work; (Compressed) 5 month schedule to complete entire fenestration & veneer package

The Solution

1) Engineer a (hybrid) panel attachement system that met both of the design criteria

2) Utilized Platform Mast Climbers to proivde an adequate work surface for the number of field personnel and amount/weight of materials needed to be hoisted at a given time

3) Deployed key, experienced Chandler supervisory field personnel. Built and trained composite crew comprised of carpenters and glaziers.

North Hall is RISD’s first completely new residential facility built in 34 years.

Chandler was contracted to install aluminum windows; manufacture and install glazed aluminum curtainwalls, aluminum entrances, fiber-cement panels, and aluminum composite metal panels.
